Save the Children
Last week, I was devastated to see a little girl around my daughter's age (13) in handcuffs at the children's hospital. I have no idea of what see did to be placed in handcuffs but just to see it hurt me to the heart. As a mother it sadden me to see this little girl with these two police men at her side. I wondered what she could have done and wonder where her family was, how did we get to this point where children are committing crimes. In Philadelphia they have had children forming flash mobs and mugging adults, racial gang fights in schools the violent crimes committed by children increasing. Where is this coming from, why are the children becoming so violent and what as adults and parents can we do to help these children? Building more jails is definitely not the answer. Can anyone tell (preferably a Politician) me why we put more money into war, jail systems and weapons than we do in education, books and the school system? Okay, we are the people and we can make anything possible in large numbers, so why haven't we made it know to our local politicians that we want our children saved not jailed. Build more school hire caring qualified teachers and pay them well and provide them with the proper tools to teach. Give our children more books and mentoring programs for children with deceased parents, addicted parents or absent parents. Show them that they count and not just around election time when they are old enough to vote. When I was growing up, we had caring teachers who loved their jobs, books, pleasant school environment and a mentoring program which I might add helped my baby brother greatly. When did we drop the ball and our children became the sacrifice, let's pick it back up and take another shot. The children need our help for one day we will need theirs.

"Friendship"
Friendship a term that at times has been used loosely, how do you define friendship and are you in turn a good friend. Friendship to me is an act of giving to someone you care about, trust and know intimately, tell me if you agree. A true friendship develops over time take Oprah and Gayle they have been friends for a lifetime. They care and support one another through good times and bad. It is not lopsided where one gives and the other takes.
Six years ago 1/31/04 my son was murdered by someone he considered a friend and even a brother, he had known him since elementary school but couldn't see this boy was not a true friend. He took and took and gaive nothing back, then he took my son's life. This is a new year examine the people you call "friends" in your life and tale a close look at the relationships you have, are they real friendships of people you know have been there countless times and will be there when you need them or are they only around when they need something. Do they support you in your life, career, business or relationships? Do they do things for you without asking or without question? How do you define real friendship?

Reliable friends who do what they say are like cool drinks in sweltering heat--refreshing! Like billowing clouds that bring no rain is the person who talks big but never produces
Proverbs 25:13-14 The Messenger
An unreliable messenger stumbles into trouble, but a reliable messenger brings healing. Proverbs 13:17
A true friend is distinguished in the crisis of hazard and necessity; when the gallantry of his aid may show the worth of his soul and the loyalty of his heart. Ennuis
If you are looking to make changes in your life try changing who you consider as friends, you have choices in this life try choosing carefully. Make a point to build real lasting friendships don't have friends for the sake of saying you have so many friends. Pay attention and listen attentatively when your friends are talking, listening is the key to seeing the truth about a real friendships.
Friendships are important to have in life and you deserve to have a friendship where you can be told the truth and you don't get made because you know it is come from the love of a friend. In order to have real friends you have to be a real friend.
